Overview

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1197, by Glè Dyëmthe. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Dathî-thèmîqa Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî is buildings folow an organic layout of narrow cobblestone streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Dathî-thèmîqa Bî's brittle defences has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Civic Infrastructure

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Dathî-thèmîqa Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Dathî-thèmîqa Bî's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Dathî-thèmîqa Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in Dathî-thèmîqa Bî which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is recurring in Dathî-thèmîqa Bî.

The Sylph near Dathî-thèmîqa Bî are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Dathî-thèmîqa Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 3 via oath swearing.
